Does the Hyundai Tucson N Line bring the heat(ed seats)?

Cruising down a scenic South African road with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face is great, but our winters can be brutal. That's where heated seats come in, and good news for N Line enthusiasts: the Hyundai Tucson 2.0D AWD N Line does indeed offer this comfort.

About the Tucson N Line

The N Line trim adds a sporty edge to the Tucson, boasting a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 137 kW and 416 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination promises acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds and a claimed fuel consumption of 7.4 L/100 km (although figures lower than 7 have been recorded). Boot space varies from 539 litres with seats up to 1,860 litres folded, offering ample cargo capacity. Pricing for this model is currently R836 500. It is based on the Elite variant but as the flagship of the range, the N Line gets added interior and exterior goodies, and a sportier suspension setup with more driving modes. Heated seats, standard on the N Line: Comfort guaranteed

Unlike some car manufacturers that offer heated seats as optional extras, the Hyundai Tucson 2.0D AWD N Line comes equipped with heated front seats thrown into the complete package. This means you can enjoy instant warmth on even the frostiest mornings without needing to pay extra.

While rear heated seats aren't available in this trim, the spacious interior ensures everyone on board has ample legroom and headroom for comfortable journeys.

Sports pedals, suede-leather seats and red stitching imparts a very upmarket ambience.

Why heated seats matter

Heated seats offer a welcome respite from the cold, but beyond comfort, they offer other benefits too:

  • Improved circulation. Heat helps improve blood flow, reducing fatigue and stiffness on long journeys.
  • Relief from pain. Warmth can help soothe muscle aches and pains, and those with lower back pain are sure to benefit from seat heating.

We compared the Tucson N Line to Kia's Sportage and Mazda's CX-60 here.

Functionality of the N Line's Heated Seats

Here's a closer look at the heated seats offered in the Hyundai Tucson 2.0D AWD N Line:

  • Heating levels: Multiple heating levels allow you to find the perfect temperature for your needs.
  • Fast heating: The seats heat up quickly, so relief from the cold is felt almost immediately.
  • Convenience: Heated seats are activated with a dedicated button on the centre console, making them easy to use while driving.
  • Leather-suede N Line sport seats: These stylish and comfortable seats enhance the N Line's sporty character while providing excellent support. The bonus is that they won't burn you in the summer like smooth leather seats do.
