I’m in! How do I enter?
Entering is simple - just follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Snap a #Carfie!
Whip out your smartphone and snap a selfie of you standing in front of your car. Get creative! The better the #Carfie, the better chances you have of winning! Don’t own a car? Don’t stress - this is where the dream starts... Simply snap a #Carfie of you and a car you wished you owned.
NB! Please do not take a #Carfie whilst driving. Safety first!
2. Take a screenshot
Jump onto autotrader.co.za and use our search widget to find any car limited to R200,000 - that’s how much we’re giving away! Click on your favourite car and take a screenshot of the advert.
3. Post it!
Upload both your #Carfie and your screenshot on either Instagram, Facebook or Twitter (or all three) and be sure to tag @AutoTraderSA. You must also include the following two hashtags: #WinAnyCar #Carfie
I’ve posted my entry - now what?
Spread the word, keep an eye on AutoTrader’s social media pages and cross your fingers! Competition closes at 11:59:59 on Freedom Day, the 27th April 2020. Afterwhich, our judging panel will decide which #Carfie is the best. The potential winner will be contacted directly via social media after which, if they meet all of the competition’s T&Cs, they will be declared our Grand Prize Winner.
What makes a good #Carfie?
Try position the camera to capture both you and the car in the background. Exterior shots are better as it shows off more of the car. Get creative!
What is the prize?
To fully understand the competition, it’s best to read the terms and conditions below, but in short, we are giving away any car listed on autotrader.co.za (car needs to be listed on AutoTrader at the time of winner selection) to the maximum value of R200,000.00 incl. VAT.
That’s approximately 27,000 cars to choose from!
If you would like to choose a car valued above R200k, AutoTrader will contribute R200,000.00 towards the final price. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash.
#WinAnyCar competition terms and conditions
1. The promoter is The Car Trader (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).
2. The promotional competition is not open to any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.
To enter the promotional competition, entrant(s) must:
a) Be a South African citizen;
b) Be over the age of 18 years;
c) Be in possession of a valid driver's license
d) Enter the said promotional competition in the entrant(s) personal capacity and not as a business, such as a close corporation, partnership and/any legal entity.
4. All personal information (‘Personal Data’) supplied by participants shall be processed in accordance with South African data protection legislation and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
5. This promotional competition is open from 16th March 2020 and ends MIDNIGHT 27th April 2020. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered. The winner will be announced by 08 May 2020 (after checks and verifications have been concluded). The Promoter reserves the right to postpone the winner announcement - any change of plan will be communicated via social media.
6. Potential winners will be contacted via social media and or email/phone as well as receive prize details via email correspondence.
7. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
STEP 1: All entrants are required to submit a #Carfie (a self portrait photograph taken either with their own car or a car they wish they owned).
STEP 2: All entrants are to conduct a vehicle search on autotrader.co.za and select a vehicle they wished they owned. They are to take a screenshot of that particular vehicle advert taken from the AutoTrader website. It’s important to note that this is not necessarily the car you will win if you are selected as our lucky winner.
STEP 3: All entrants are to post the above two pics from their gallery onto their social media platform of their choice, or all three (includes Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) and tag @AutoTraderSA. Entrants must include the following hashtags: #Carfie and #WinAnyCar
Only once all steps have been completed, will the entrant be successfully entered into the competition.
Entrants may post their #Carfies and screenshots on either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (or all three)
Winners will be selected by means of a panel of judges selected by the promoter.
Potential winners will initially be contacted on social media and thereafter be contacted via phone and/or email.
The prize is to buy a car on the AutoTrader website up to the value of R200 000 incl. VAT only or allow AutoTrader to contribute a maximum of R200 000 incl. VAT to the final purchase price of a vehicle purchased of the AutoTrader website.
Prize
8. The lucky winner may buy any car of their choice on the AutoTrader website up to the value of R200 000 including VAT.
8.1 Should the lucky winner want to choose a car valued above R200,000, AutoTrader will contribute R200,000 towards the final price. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash.
8.2 The Promoter will in no way be responsible for the purchase or sale transaction other than settling directly with the seller the amount of up to R200,000.
8.3 The Promoter will not carry any risk or reward with regard to the vehicle selected or ultimately purchased by the winner. This would exclude, but in no way limited to, the following: insurance, maintenance, warranty, fuel costs or any defects or defaults related to the vehicle or transaction with the seller. In this regard, the Promoters brand name is not to be brought into / or publicised regarding any post hand-over discussions.
SELECTING WINNERS
9. The Winner will be selected by means of a panel of judges selected by the Promoter, taking into account but not limited to the creativity of the entrants #Carfie. The final winner will be chosen at the judges sole discretion.
DELIVERY OF PRIZE
10. The prize details will be emailed to the respective participant upon receipt of the prize.
General
11. Participation in the promotion constitutes acceptance of the promotional rules and participants agree to abide by these rules.
13. The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the Promotion immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its sole opinion due to circumstances arising outside of its control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this Promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
14. Neither the Promoter, its agents, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant or the Winner.
15 The Promoter reserves the right to provide a participant with a prize of equivalent value in the event that the participant is not able to successfully claim their prize due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter. This excludes the winner claiming a cash prize.
16. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter's reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value.
17. Prize is not exchangeable or transferable.
18. Failure to claim the Prize or a refusal or inability to supply required documentation or comply with any of the competition requirements within 7 days may result in the prize being forfeited .
19. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever.
20. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
21. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
23. No applications from agents, third parties, organized groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
24. NOTE: Entries or votes generated by script, macro, bot, commercial contest subscription, incentives or other means not sponsored by the Promoter, vote-swapping sites, voting software, entering service sites or any other automated means and entries or votes by any means that subvert the entry/voting process or do not conform to the terms or spirit of these competition rules, will void the entry/votes and may disqualify the entrant.
25. The Promoter reserves the right to use the images/film taken of the Winner for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without remuneration being made payable to the Winner. However, the Winner has the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter.
