JAC Motors is continuing its foray into new-energy technology with the imminent launch of the T9 2.0L TGDI PHEV, a plug-in hybrid version of their existing T9 double-cab bakkie. While exact pricing for the T9 PHEV remains undisclosed, we expect it to slot above JAC’s current flagship, the T9 2.0CTI Double Cab 4WD Super Lux (R659,900). For adventurous motorists who desire both power and sustainability, the PHEV could be worth the investment. However, its ability to establish a foothold in South Africa's competitive double-cab market will depend on how well it combines pricing, performance, and durability.
