GWM has launched a diesel-powered version of the Tank 300, offering a more affordable alternative to the rest of the line-up!

GWM has bolstered the local Tank 300 range by introducing diesel variants at more affordable prices! Here's what you need to know.

The engine

The 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine produces 135kW/480Nm paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The model offers a 3 000kg braked towing capacity and a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 7.7L/100 km.

Off-road ability

Its off-road capabilities are highlighted by 7 All-Terrain Driving Modes, low-range 4WD, and off-road cruise control, with front and rear electronically controlled diff locks. The model retains its 33-degree approach angle, a 34-degree departure angle, and a climbing capability of up to 70%, with a wading depth of 700 mm and 224 mm of ground clearance.

Specs

The diesel models feature 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats, an 8-way  electrically adjustable driver's seat, a heated steering wheel, climate control, a 12.3-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a 9-speaker audio system.

The Tank 300 has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and Level 2 Autonomous Driving classification.
