How to replace a lightbulb on a Land Rover Range Rover

With all new Range Rover models now being fitted with either HID or LED headlights and these being non-user serviceable, it falls to the earlier models for this maintenance task. Replacing the H9 style bulbs requires a small bit of disassembly to complete, but it is not overly difficult. Below we show you how to replace the main beam bulb on a 2005 to 2009 model Range Rover,

Once your light beams begin to dim or are no longer functioning they will need to be replaced and you can save yourself a few rand by tackling this task yourself.

 

 

You will need:

  • Replacement H9 style bulbs
  • Panel tool
  • Soft cloth

 

 

Let's get it done

 

1. Open the bonnet

 

2. Remove the grille by releasing the six snap clips

 

3. Using the panel tool, lift the locating tabs at the top of the light assembly

 

4. Lift the light assembly out  

 

5. Unclip wiring plug

 

6. Remove the bulb cover

 

7. Depress the clip the release the bulb

 

8. Exchange the bulb

 

9. Assemble in reverse order
