It is well known that the Germans lead the charge when it comes to luxury SUVs, what may not be as well known is that Audi offers one of the most comprehensive manufacturer warranties available with their luxury Q7

We took a look at what Audi offers with their warranty and what may not be covered.
The Warranty
Every new Audi is sold with a 1 Year / Unlimited Km warranty and a 5 year/100 000km Audi Freeway Plan. The Plan commences from the date of delivery until the plans date or distance expire.
The Plan covers all scheduled services as stipulated by the manufacturer, replacement of parts according to technical requirements and replacement of parts due to wear and tear (what constitutes wear and tear will be decided at the sole discretion of Audi South Africa).
The warranty and Audi Freeway Plan do NOT cover the following:
- Alteration to or modification of the vehicle
- Service and/or maintenance by a non authorised workshop
- Repair of any windscreen, windows, damaged glass, carpet, trim, seat covers, soft-top canvas and/or frames, sunroof pane, paintwork or body panels
- Damage caused as a result of an accident, the use in the vehicle of oils, lubricants and other additives not approved by the manufacturer
- Industrial pollution and rust corrosion
- Neglect, improper handling or misuse of the vehicle, including but not limited to any form of race competition
- Poor road and adverse driving conditions
- Fitment of any accessory or equipment not approved by Audi South Africa.
- Replacement of tyres, balancing and wheel alignment
- If services are not carried out within one 1 month or 1000km of the specified service interval it could invalidate the Plan
The Audi Freeway Plan can be extended from 5 year / 100 000km to a maximum of 7 year / 200 000km's (whichever occurs first) from the date of initial delivery with extension applications being lodged prior to the expiry of the original plan.
