Towards the end of 2020, Audi unveiled what is the latest iteration of the A6 sedan model range. The recent model not only offers updated exterior styling to match Audi's current design language but also comes fitted with the latest in technology on the interior. Customers can now take advantage of the two central screens and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster known as the Audi Virtual Cockpit to control vehicle settings and access infotainment functionality such as navigation.
Under the bonnet of the A6 range features either a 2.0-litre, turbo diesel or 3.0-litre, turbo diesel V6 motor depending on the derivative you opt for. If you go for the top-of-the-range S6 model, you will gain access to a 2.9-litre, twin-turbocharged, V6 petrol motor coupled to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission. The combination sends the 331 kW and 600 Nm of torque to all four wheels via the quattro system.
1. iPad adapter
Although the Audi S6 is quite a good looking choice for a couple only, chances are that the reason you purchased a sedan is that you might be taking on rear passengers. So while you have two central screens and the Audi Virtual Cockpit to keep you entertained, the rear occupants might feel a little left out.
For this reason, Audi has created an adapter that allows you to attach an iPad to the rear of the headrests of the front seats. The adapter is easily fitted and allows different holders to be attached to accommodate different mobile devices. The adapter also allows for 90-degree rotation and has integrated charging so that the device remains charged through the trip.
2. Audi child seat
Speaking of rear occupants, what if they are your child. Well, why not consider the Audi child seat which not only can be installed facing forwards but also backwards. The stylish design mounts to the rear bench via an ISOFIX base and offers an integrated safety harness and adjustable head restraint. Parents also don't need to worry about any spillage as the cloth cover can be removed and washed.
The child seats come in three specifications, one able to accommodate infants up to 12 months weighing up to 13 kg, another suitable for children between the ages of 1-4 years and weighing between 9 and 18 kg and a larger seat for youngsters between 4 and 12 years weighing between 15 and 36 kg.
3. Roof box
Although the Audi S6 comes with 520-litres of luggage space in the boot, what happens if you need a few litres more and the rear bench is occupied? Well, why not consider a roof box? The overall design takes on a flat and sporty shape for improved aerodynamics. The lockable box can also be loaded from both sides and features an inner handle to easily close the box.
The roof box is available in three sizes starting with 300-litre, 360-litre and then the 405-litre option. While the size volume increases, it should be noted that only 75 kg is allowed to be carried in the roof boxes.
4. Bicycle rack
The bicycle rack on offer attaches to the rear of the vehicle via the tow hook. Capable of carrying 60 kg means that not only can you transport bicycles but even e-cycles. The rack also conveniently folds away from the tailgate making accessing the luggage compartment more convenient. An option attachment for a third bicycle is also available. Not only does the rack lock into place but the bicycles are also locked into place making theft more difficult.
