How to replace a lightbulb on a Audi S6

The Audi S6 has gone through many an iteration and with every change comes a new set of headlights. With the latest versions sporting high-end LED style headlight assemblies that should be left to the OEM workshops, we will take a look at changing the C6 and C7 model range xenon headlight bulbs.

For C7 models (2011 to 2019)

 

You will need:

  • Replacement bulbs of the correct amperage and wattage for your year.
  • T30 Torx bit and driver

 

 

Let's get it done:

 

1. Open the bonnet

 

2. Use the T30 Torx bit and driver to remove the screws that hold the plastic radiator cover in place, this will reveal the screw for the headlight assembly.

 

3. Using the Torx bit and driver, undo the three screws that hold the headlight assembly in place.

 

4. Undo the connector plug from the back of the headlight assembly.

 

5. Remove headlight assembly.

 

6. Undo the large silver retainer clip and open the back of the assembly.

 

7. Very carefully remove the HID bulb assembly.

 

8. Replace the bulb assembly (DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART OF THE BULB)

 

9. Install everything in reverse order and test system.
