The latest generation Subaru Forester is equipped with LED DRL's and headlights so are best left to a dealership to replace. If you have a 2012 to 2018 model that is equipped with HID-style bulbs, you can replace them in a matter of minutes.

You will need:

  • Replacement bulbs of the correct wattage and amperage
  • Flathead screwdriver

Let's get it done

 

1. Open the bonnet

 

2. Locate the back of the headlight assembly

 

3. Lightly rotate the bulb to remove it

 

4. Depress the clip to remove bulb from the plug

 

5. Insert the new bulb and replace into the headlight assembly

6. To replace passenger side bulbs you will need to remove the air intake. Use a screwdriver to remove plastic screws to gain access behind the headlight assembly.
