Three, Four, Five
The technical jargon that a new car buyer may come across when embarking on a car-buying journey can be confusing and sometimes scary. There are a lot of abbreviations and technical terms that may throw some for a loop and one of these terms is 5 door car. How on earth can a car have 5 doors?

Spell it out for me
This one is actually quite easy to wrap your head around; the rear hatch is considered a door. This means that any vehicle with the standard four-side doors plus a rear hatch is considered a 5-door.
This terminology is usually applied to mid-size hatchbacks like a Volkswagen Polo or Golf, Opel Corsa, or Suzuki Baleno but isn't really used on other body styles such as crossovers, mid-size SUVs, or 7-seater behemoths.
Likewise, a sedan isn't referred to as a 5 door despite having 4 side doors and a boot lid, the boot isn't considered a hatch/potential entryway.
