Last year's competition proved to be a massive hit, and we were completely blown away by the originality and enthusiasm of the entries received in our #WinAnyCar contest. Deciding on just one winner was a difficult decision!

After weeks of pouring over thousands of imaginative, charming, cheeky, and fun 'carfies', our judges finally decided that Unathi Mamane's entry was worthy of the grand prize, and she drove away in a stunning, white Hyundai ix35, her car of choice. What a pleasure it was to make someone's dream come true! Check out the video of where we made that perfect moment happen, below.

Your cool and quirky carfie (or carfies - you can enter as many as you like!) will put you in line to win any car of your choice to the value of R200 000 on AutoTrader. If you should fall in love with a more expensive car, AutoTrader will gift you R200k to put towards that car.

I’m in! How do I enter?

It's simple — just follow these 3 easy steps:

1. Snap a stunning 'carfie' that stands out from the crowd

Whip out your smartphone and snap a pic of you in front of your car — hence the name 'Carfie'. Get creative! The better the carfie, the better chances you have of winning! Don’t own a car? Don’t stress — this is where the dream starts, with AutoTrader. Simply snap a carfie of you and a car you wished you owned, or any car for that matter, even if it's the neighbour's! (*NB! Ask them first and please do not take one while driving. Safety first!)

 

2. Take a screenshot of your favourite car

Head on over to AutoTrader and use our search widget to find any car you like and take a screenshot of the advert (remember we are giving away any car listed on our site to the maximum value of R200,000.00 incl. VAT. Should a more expensive car tickle your fancy, we will give you R200 000 to spend on the car in question.)

 

3. Post it to social media

Upload both your carfie and your screenshot of your favourite car on either Instagram, Facebook or Twitter (or all three), and be sure to tag @AutoTraderSA. In order to qualify, you MUST also include these two hashtags: #StartWithAutoTrader and #WinAnyCar

 

I’ve posted my entry — now what?

Spread the word, keep an eye on AutoTrader’s social media pages and cross your fingers! The competition closes at midnight, Sunday 24 October 2021. Then, it's up to our judging panel to decide which #Carfie is the best, which will be our biggest challenge. Once the judges have narrowed it down to the most amazing and awesome #Carfie in SA, the potential winner will be contacted directly via social media, and if they meet all the competition’s T's &Cs, they will be declared our grand prize winner. 

 

What makes a good #Carfie?

Try position the camera to capture both you and the car in the background. Exterior shots are better as it shows off more of the car. Get creative! Use props if you like or pose in front of an interesting background, or both. Get the kids, friends, dogs, or grandparents to join in! The only limit is your imagination.

 

 

What is the prize?

To fully understand the competition, it’s best to read the terms and conditions here, but in short, we are giving away any car listed on AutoTrader (the car needs to be listed on AutoTrader at the time of winner selection), to the maximum value of R200,000.00 incl.
