Porsche Cayenne Coupé gets B2 armouring from SVI Engineering

SVI Engineering has just rolled out its innovative “SVI LITE” armouring package for the Porsche Cayenne Coupé.

This makes the premium SUV the latest model to benefit from the game-changing Level B2 partial armouring solution, designed for adequate anti-hijack protection without compromising performance.

Introducing the SVI LITE

The SVI LITE product range was introduced earlier in 2025 by the Bashewa-based company. It slots in below its full B4 discreet and B6 discreet 360-degree packages, offering protection far superior to standard smash-and-grab window film.

First launched on the Toyota Corolla Cross and Ford Ranger, the SVI LITE treatment has quickly been extended to a wide variety of vehicles, from the diminutive Suzuki Jimny to the large Audi Q7—and now it's the Cayenne Coupé's turn.

“In addition to its cost-effectiveness when compared to full 360-degree ballistic protection, one of the key drawcards of our lightweight SVI LITE partial armouring solution is the fact the vehicle’s general usability is virtually unaffected. In this case, that means the Cayenne Coupé remains very much a sports car,” said Nicol Louw, SVI Business Development Director.

How the Cayenne Coupé is protected

The SVI LITE package focuses on providing crucial anti-hijack protection by fortifying the vehicle's side closures (doors and door windows). Crucially, customers can specify exactly how many doors they want armoured.

  • Doors: Chosen doors receive carefully shaped and fully concealed Kevlar panels.

  • Windows: Standard side-window glass is replaced with special lightweight armoured glass.

Together, these components provide Level B2 protection, meaning they are rated to stop a standard 9 mm, 124-grain round fired from a handgun.

The genius of SVI LITE is its minimal impact on the vehicle. The armouring components add less than 15 kg to each door. This means performance remains virtually unaffected, whether applied to the entry-level 260kW Cayenne Coupé, the powerful 485kW Cayenne Turbo GT, or any of the e-hybrid variants.

Furthermore, the special ballistic glass allows for the standard operation of the side windows. Drivers retain completely unhindered access for toll gates, parking-ticket machines, and biometric readers.

Pricing and availability

Compared to a complete 360-degree B4 discreet armour package (which starts at around R850 000 for a similar-sized SUV), SVI LITE offers significant value.
