Porsche has released details of its new 911 Carrera T, a model that has traditionally catered to keen driving enthusiasts who perhaps cannot yet attain a Pukka GT Porsche model but want a taste of the experience.

Engine and performance
At its heart, the 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine delivers 290kW and 450Nm of torque. This power is channelled through a six-speed manual transmission with a driver-selectable auto-blip function for precise downshifts. The Carrera T sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, or 4.7 seconds in the Cabriolet variant, reaching a top speed of 295 km/h (293 km/h for the Cabriolet).
Lighter
Significant weight-saving measures, such as lightweight glass, reduced sound insulation, and available full bucket seats, give the Carrera T a kerb weight of just 1 478 kg – over 40 kg lighter than the standard 911 Carrera. The Sport Chrono Package, included as standard, provides enhanced performance features, with Porsche’s rear-axle steering system further aided by the PASM adaptive sports suspension that sits 10 mm lower than other models. These enhancements and 20/21-inch Carrera S alloy wheels should make the driving experience in the T different to its Carrera and Carrera S siblings.
Exterior and interior changes
The Carrera T’s visual changes include Vanadium Grey accents, a unique colour palette with options like Gentian Blue, Guards Red, and Crayon, and a redesigned spoiler lip that optimises aerodynamics. Inside, the Carrera T features a minimalist cabin, with black sports seats featuring Sport-Tex inserts, a Race-Tex steering wheel option, and distinctive Carrera T badges. Customisation is available through unique design packages, offering colour-coordinated stitching, stripes, and seat belts in hues like Gentian Blue.
