Standard spec

The Corsa Lite comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, front electric windows, air conditioning, LED headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring, Active Lane Keep Assist as well as a 7.0-inch touchscreen IntelliLink Infotainment system.

Turbo power all round

The big news is that the entire Corsa range now features turbo power in the form of a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The models paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox produce 74kW and 205Nm and will accelerate to 100km/h in 9.9 seconds and sip fuel at a rate of 5.7 L/100km. As before, the 6-speed automatic variant gets a power powerful version of the 1.2-litre, now with 96kW and 230Nm of torque which allows it to use fuel at a rate of 6.3 L/100km and sprint to 100km/h in 8.7 seconds.

Rivals

At R349 900, the Corsa Lite finds itself competing with products such as the Renault Clio, Hyundai i20, the Volkswagen Polo and Honda Fit, among others. While it is no longer the budget-beating economy car it once was, the return of a popular nomenclature paired with the addition of a turbocharged engine to the base model Corsa may secure some more volume locally for Opel
