Omoda, Chery's sister brand, officially entered South Africa in 2023 with the C5 model. Since then, the C5 range gained a GT derivative, now occupying the Omoda range's flagship position. The latter not only gets model-specific styling enhancements but also a more powerful powertrain.

Now, you might think that the C5 certainly is stylish and offers all the creature comforts you want, but how many airbags are there to protect you and the passengers in an accident?

Omoda C5 airbags

When you step into any of the six Omoda C5 derivatives, including the entry-level Omoda C5 1.5T 230T Tech, you will be happy to note that it comes fitted with no less than six airbags. Front and side airbags for the front occupants and two curtain airbags that extend the length of the cabin. 

Also, standard across the range are ABS brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitor, LED daytime running lights, park distance sensors at the front and rear, as well as a reverse camera and ISOFIX anchor points on the outer rear seats.
