Service with a smile

OMODA, a sister brand to Chery, launched the C5 earlier in 2023. Focused on a more fashionable lifestyle, the C5 utilises a completely different design language to set itself apart from the Chery Tiggo product line-up.

There is currently only one model available in 5 derivatives, with varying levels of features and tech. The C5 has only one engine option, a 1.5l turbo petrol engine that will produce 115kW and 230Nm. With the Omoda being a vehicle of Chinese origin, potential buyers may be concerned about mechanical soundness and parts availability. Still, there is no need to worry, as Omoda has you covered.

Interval distance

Omoda offers a 5-year / 70 000km service plan and requires service to be conducted every 15 000km or once a year, whichever comes first. Omoda also offers a very comprehensive warranty of 5 years/ 150 000km on the car and 1 000 000 on the engine for the first owner. This speaks volumes about their confidence in the engineering that has gone into these engines and should surely give everyday motorists in SA some peace of mind regarding the Chinese brand.
