BMW i3 colours and price guide

If you're embracing electricity, the i3 certainly makes a style statement, and there are a variety of free colour choices. Take a look at the sleek exterior colours for your new hybrid or fully-electric BMW i3.

Automotive News

The BMW i3 was one of the first fully-electric hatchbacks to make an appearance on the local horizon and one of the first EVs I had the pleasure of piloting, along with the cutting-edge i8, which has sadly been discontinued.

Fast forward to 2021 and the i3 is still alive and kicking, having seen an increase in battery capacity in 2016 and a completely new 120Ah (Ampére-hour) battery in 2019, which increased the i3 and i3s models' range to 260 km. Of course, the two Range Extender hybrid models still exist, but the all-electric models are now looking more appealing than ever, and they're more affordable, too.

The BMW i3 can be had in a variety of colours and none of them will cost you an extra cent. Here's what the i3 looks like in these four colour combinations. Please note that other colours are subject to availability - according to BMW SA's car configurator, these are the only colour choices at present but this may change in the future.

This is the i3 in Capparis White with BMW i Blue highlights. It's the most stylish colour configuration because of the floating-roof effect.

The i3 looks sleek and futuristic in Fluid Black with BMW i Blue highlights, but bear in mind that black is not ideal for our harsh South African sun.

After something a little more glamorous? The i3 can also be specified in Imperial Blue with Frozen Grey Metallic highlights.

Mineral Grey with BMW i Blue highlights is another metallic hue that makes the oddly-shaped i3 a little more enticing. (I'd still stick with white, though!)

Overseas markets are privy to other colour choices, such as Melbourne Red Metallic and Jucaro Beige (pictured below).
