What is covered under BMW X4 manufacturer car warranty?

We take a closer look at what you can expect to be covered under the manufacturer car warranty of a BMW X4.

Automotive News

The BMW X4 shares the same platform with its X3 sibling, except where the X3 takes shape as a traditional SUV the X4 features coupé-like styling and is known as a SAC or Sports Activity Coupé. Thus owners can expect that the model has the same comprehensive warranty and maintenance plan included in the purchase price.

Warranty and maintenance plan

At the time of writing this article, BMW offers five derivatives of the X4 model including the mighty BMW X4 M competition. All the variants are covered by a 2-year / unlimited-distance warranty which can be optionally extended. Also included in the purchase price of the vehicle is a 5-year / 100 000km maintenance plan.

The latter plan gives owners the peace of mind that their BMW X4 is maintained by qualified technicians and with OEM components long after the original manufacturer warranty has expired.

What is covered?

- Repair or replacement of all major components.

- All maintenance plan and service work stipulated by the intelligent maintenance system, Condition Based Servicing (CBS).

- All repairs and costs of parts from normal wear and tear that may occur even when the manufacturer's warranty has already expired.

- All oils, brake fluids and other lubricants are replaced during a service.

What is NOT covered?

- Any alterations or modifications to the original components.

- Non-BMW approved accessories

- Tyres

- Window glass

- Vehicle accident damage

- Any damage resulting from the owner's negligence or abuse.

- Paint, body and trim repairs.

Recommended

Be sure to adhere to the maintenance schedule as some warranties are directly attached to the wear and tear of serviceable components. Also, should you notice any unfamiliar noises or experience operational characteristics that you haven't experienced before, it is recommended to contact the 24-hour roadside assistance that is included with the purchase of the vehicle and confirm whether you should drive the vehicle to your closest dealership, or if they will need to come and fetch the vehicle to avoid any additional damage.
