Massey Ferguson introduces the MF 9300 Sprayer
When you think of Massey Ferguson, one tends to think of little red tractors. We have covered a raft of various offerings from this agricultural machine manufacturer, but never one of their sprayers. Now, with the introduction of the latest model, the MF 9300 we thought it the perfect time to dive into what you need to know about this sprayer. Here are some things that you need to know.
What is it?
The MF 9300 is a self-propelled sprayer that has been designed, tried and tested to meet the customers needs. It has been designed for small and medium sized agricultural applications and operators will appreciate its simplicity, strength and value for money offerings. The MF 9300 is synonymous with technology, durability and performance.
Trusted power when needed
The MF 9300 has been equipped with the distinguished AGCO POWER 6.6 litre engine. It delivers unmatched fuel economy when coupled to the machine’s hydrostatic drive system. Furthermore, the power and torque characteristics of this machine surpass that of its competitors. The engine is programmed to create maximum torque where the drive system requires, providing healthy torque at low revs with 156kW and 790Nm of torque at just 1 800rpm.
Unique Cross Drive Transmission
The MF 9300 utilises highly developed Bosch Rexroth components in its effective Cross Drive transmission. Undulating country, hills and muddy fields are a breeze. With impressive low-end torque there is very little loss of traction. This means that the sprayer gives the driver control in even the toughest conditions.
Economical hydrostatic system
Another unique element on the MF 9300 is its economical hydrostatic drive system. Most hydrostatic machines require 26 bars of pressure from the pumps before the wheel motors will accept oil, this in turn results in the engine running at over 2 000rpm and in some cases, up to 2 500rpm.
The double acting valve on this machine allows the wheel motors to accept oil at seven bars which occurs at a low 1 250rpm. The MF 9300 Plus differs when the system hits 26 bar pressure at 1 800rpm. This allows for maximum torque from the engine and transmission which in turn improves fuel economy.
Do you even flex?
One of the key features of the MF 9300 is the fact that the frame is not welded at any point. This means that when the suspension runs out of travel, the chassis itself will flex, allowing all wheels to stay in contact with the ground, ensuring the safety and agility of the MF 9300 even in the most adverse conditions. An advantage of the fully bolted C-flex chassis is that it gives the MF 9300 the ability to traverse channels, banks and contours most would not attempt.
What about the tank?
The MF 9300 is fitted with a large 3000 litre tank. It is connected to booms that are available in either 28 or 30 metre widths. The tank has dual hydraulic agitators and a single oscillating tank rinse nozzle fed by a 240 litre fresh water reservoir. The tank sits in a cradle which allows the chassis to flex if required beneath the tank.
The work environment
The cabin of the MF 9300 is simple, uncluttered and functional to maximise operator comfort and safety. Controls are ergonomically arranged, within easy reach and the cabin provides a generous amount of space to increase daily productivity and reduce fatigue, especially when spending long hours behind the wheel. In addition to providing the operator with an excellent view of the front, sides and rear, the positioning of the cab allows great vision of the tyres and boom.
