It might look very much like it has since its 2015 facelift, but mechanically, the latest Ford Ranger is a rather different bakkie to its previous iteration. For one thing, the engine has been downsized from the largest in its class to one of the smallest, and for another, there’s a new gearbox with 10 forward ratios. But how do these changes alter its ability to get the job done? We took a Wildtrak for a ride to find out.
