The Fiat Qubo didn't find a home in many driveways here in South Africa, but there are still a few out and about. Being incredibly similar to other Fiat products the process of changing the car battery in the Qubo is easy and straight forward.

Below we show you how it's done in a step-by-step tutorial

 

You will need:

 

  • New replacement battery for your model (correct amperage)
  • 12mm spanner, 13mm socket and wrench

 

 

Let's get started!

 

1. Open the bonnet

 

2. Locate the battery

 

3. Remove the negative terminal using the 12mm spanner (or cam lock terminal - depending on model)

 

4. Remove the positive terminal using the appropriate size wrench.

 

5. Use 13mm socket and wrench, remove the hold-down bolt that tightens down the nylon battery strap.

 

6. Remove old battery

 

7. Install the new battery.

 

8. Assemble in reverse order.
