3 extras you should fit on a new Fiat Doblo Cargo
The Fiat Doblo Cargo is Italy's answer for a tradesman looking for a dependable van. To bolster the ownership experience, Fiat and Mopar offer three different roof attachments that will make loading and unloading easier. We list these 3 extras you should fit on a new Fiat Doblo Cargo.
The Fiat Doblo Cargo is in its fourth generation and has been refined to incorporate car-like driving characteristics and design. The model which was unveiled in 2015, fits between the smaller Fiorino Cargo model and the much larger Ducato van. The Doblo Cargo offers practicality and utility while retaining modern styling and a comfortable, high-quality interior for the occupants.

The latest iteration of the Doblo Cargo not only saw a reconfiguration of the suspension system for better handling and stability under load but under the bonnet also features a more efficient and powerful motor. While these are important characteristics for owners, the most important is practical usability and loading comfort. To bolster this, Fiat and Mopar introduced three optional extras to improve loading, unloading and load security.
1. Roof bars basket
While being able to load larger items onto the roof is no new method of transporting goods, doing so securely is always a challenge. In an effort to improve load security, the Italian firm offers a roof bars basket which stretches the length of the roof and incorporates small railings to keep items from falling off the sides.
To improve loading items onto this basket, the design incorporates a roller at the rear to allow for easy loading without scratching items. The roof can support up to 100 kg of load including the weight of the basket.
2. Ladder holders
For Doblo Cargo models fitted with the roof bars, Fiat offers optional side ladder holders. These holders flip out over the side of the vehicle to allow owners to load ladders without having to lift it over the top of the vehicle. Once the ladder is in the holder, the owner merely pushes to slide the ladder on top of the roof bars into its secure position. Not only does this make loading ladders easier but removes the strain from the owner's back.
3. Loading roller
Similar to the roller bar at the back of the roof basket, this roller bar can be fitted to a 3 bar, roof bar configuration. This allows the owner to use the roller to easily slide heavier objects onto and from the roof bars and removes the strain of having to lift items over the edge of the roof bars. This item will also ultimately protect the vehicle paint while loading and unloading the roof bars as it keeps items away from the roof edge. The roller is capable of supporting 80 kg including the weight of the bars itself.
