The current body-shape Fiat 500 has been around since 2007. Since its local introduction, it has seen a variety of exterior styling updates and added interior features. The Fiat 500 is offered in Star and Rockstar guise, the latter featuring a few additional interior and exterior styling attributes. Both derivatives are motivated by a 900 cc, two-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor mated to either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The Fiat 500, like all other models in the Fiat line-up, is under a 3-years or 100 000 kilometres warranty. The warranty covers the quality of the workmanship, manufacture and parts in the vehicle, however, there are some exclusions.
Exclusions
Even though every part on your Fiat 500 performs a function during operation, some parts experience more wear than others. These parts are typically excluded from the warranty and sometimes included in the vehicle's service plan. Here is a list of parts, functions and services that is excluded from the warranty:
• Normal wear and tear of the vehicle components
• Wheel balancing
• Wheel alignment
• Corrosion in the fuel system
• Replacement of lubricants and other fluids
• Accessories not part of standard equipment fitted to the vehicle during manufacturing
• Filters
• Wiper arms and blades
• Drive belts for the alternator, water pump and air conditioner
• Clutch plate and pressure plate whether it is because of normal wear or due to improper usage
• Components that require replacement during the services period
• Tyres and wheels
• Windscreen and windows
• All lamps, lights, bulbs, globes, fuses and electrical connections
• Floor carpets
Warranty conditions
Fiat 500 owners should note that they need to adhere to conditions as listed in the vehicle's warranty agreement for it to remain intact. Firstly Fiat requires the owner to service the vehicle according to the intervals as stipulated by the owners manual. Fiat also requires the owner to repair or service the vehicle at an official Fiat dealership.
If you use the vehicle in abnormal operating conditions, the vehicle might need to be tended to more regularly by Fiat for the warranty to remain in place. Fiat doesn't cover components that are not genuine Fiat parts. Any modifications to the vehicle might also see components directly affected by the modification to lose their cover.
