How do I connect my Android phone to my Honda HR-V?

If you have just taken delivery of your new Honda and are wanting to connect your Android phone to the infotainment, we can show you how it's done in just a few easy steps.

As technology has progressed, the interconnectivity of our devices has become essential. Both the major smartphone operating systems have features in place that allow seamless integration of your smartphone into your vehicle. Apple has CarPlay and Google-based products make use of Android Auto.

Honda does not currently offer smartphone connectivity in the current generation HR-V in SA but perhaps in the future, we may see this. We take a look at the steps required to connect your Android smartphone to your smartphone connectivity equipped Honda vehicle.

 

 

Tethered

Connect your phone via the devices supplied cable to the marked USB port, Your device will connect and mirror the screen on your infotainment. You are now free to use all the functionality of your device via the touchscreen or with voice assistant.

 

Wireless

Making use of wireless functionality is only available on vehicles equipped with this feature. If your Honda is equipped with wireless function follow these steps.

 

1. Download the Android Auto app onto your phone from Play Store

2. Select the home screen on your infotainment

3. Select the Android Auto icon on the screen

4. Select Connect new device

5. Connect and your device should automatically mirror on the infotainment screen after the tutorial
