Find out what’s the correct tyre pressure for your VW Amarok

With double cabs taking a turn towards the plusher side of life we should not forget that these vehicles can still carry a load and that the tyre pressures need to be adjusted when you do load them up but what should those tyre pressures be?

Amarok tyre pressures

The Volkswagen Amarok is one of the more popular options when it comes to double cab bakkies here in South Africa. Double cabs or UTEs as they are known in other markets are well known for not being the most economical vehicles, but there are a number of ways to ensure that you are going to get the best fuel economy that you can.

We highly recommend keeping close tabs on your vehicle's tyre pressures as this can prevent premature tyre wear, blowouts and punctures from ruining your day.

Safety first, economy second

Checking and maintaining your tyre pressures is the first step when ensuring that you have the most optimal rolling resistance. This is not only one of the leading safety factors but will also affect fuel economy if the tyres are over or under-inflated.

If you are not sure what the tyre pressures are supposed to be when the vehicle is loaded up or free, you can check the inside of the driver's door jamb to find the info plate or check the owner's manual for the exact inflation pressures required.

Volkswagen recommends a cold tyre pressure, unladen of 2.0 bar and 2.2 bar when with a full load of passengers and goods.
