Before we delve into the performance and frugality of the engines on offer from Chery, you should note that both powertrains come with a very generous 10-year / 1 000 000 km mechanical warranty for the first owner and a 5-year / 150 000 km vehicle warranty. For the 1.6 TGDI engines, the Chinese automaker includes a 5-year / 60 000 km service plan while the Tiggo 8 Pro MAX model, fitted with the 2.0 TGDI motor benefits from a 7-year / 90 000 km service plan.

Verdict
While at the time of writing this article, the Tiggo 8 Pro did not have a diesel variant to compare with the available petrol engines, this was a good opportunity to identify which of the available powertrains is the best. As can be seen from the manufacturer's claimed figures above, the Tiggo 8 Pro Max with the 2.0 TGDI engine will provide a lot of additional power and torque while still remaining quite frugal. As such, it is the winner in this comparison.
