The Family SUV doing double duty

Capturing the South African car buying market by surprise, Chery has delivered some stellar vehicles with the Tiggo range. From the baby Tiggo 4 Pro, the mid-range Tiggo 7 Pro and finally the biggest one, the Tiggo 8 Pro. The Tiggo 8 Pro is one of the most affordable family SUVs with an executive feel to it.

Powering the Tiggo 8 Pro is a 4-cylinder 1.6TGDI turbocharged petrol engine pushing out 145 kW of power and 290 Nm of torque. However, if you opt for the range-topper Tiggo 8 Pro Max, you get a 4-cylinder 2.0TGDI turbocharged petrol engine punching a massive 187 kW of power and 390 Nm of torque. Quite a significant power bump. The Tiggo 8 Pro range of engines are paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission automatic gearbox.

Can the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro tow?

Yes, the Tiggo 8 Pro range can tow. Towing capacity for the range is 750 kg unbraked and 1500 kg braked. The tow bar doesn't come standard on the Tiggo 8 Pro though and it's an optional extra. In the meantime, you can shove your items in the boot area which ranges from 193 litres if the 3rd row of seats is up, to 892 litres when the 3rd row of seats is folded down, then if you fold down both the 3rd and 2nd row of seats you'll get a colossal 1930 litres at your disposal. Pair that with a trailer and even small moving trucks would be envious.
