The Kia Pegas has been available since late 2017 in its home countries of China and Vietnam 2017 but was only released in South Africa in 2021. This small AB sedan is the largest of all the compact sedans, offering a great mix of space and convenience to drivers, whether destined for the family driveway or the local car rental fleet. Safety is an important consideration for many buyers, so we decided to check out just how safe the Kia Pegas is.

The Kia Pegas received an overall two-star crash rating in Safer Cars for Africa and Global NCAP testing. Although the vehicle is equipped with two airbags upfront for passengers and is fitted with ABS and EBD, the steel construction was highlighted as unstable. It did, however, receive 4 stars for child protection.
