1. All powertrains in the GLC range are mild-hybrids
The entire lineup features frugal but powerful 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel or turbopetrol engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology for better fuel economy, and an additional power boost.
I was quite surprised when I prompted the MBUX system for fuel economy figures ("Hey Mercedes, show me my fuel consumption please"), and the central display showed only 7.3 litres per 100 km in the 300d model - even in our preferred Sport mode and later the Comfort setting. If you switch to Sport mode, Mercedes has added some lovely sound effects to make the engine growl a little when you 'put foot'. - Ané Albertse, AutoTrader

2. All GLC models are all-wheel-driven
The 4MATIC nomenclature is present across the lineup for extra surefootedness when you tackle those twisties in the rain or on loose services. This makes it a great choice for drivers who want a safe, sporty but predictable driving experience.
Should you specify the Engineering Package, you can also have AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering at your disposal. This also reduces the turning circle by 80 centimetres.

3. The Mercedes-Benz GLC is more off-road-oriented than you might think
It's still classified as a light off-roader, but with features like the transparent bonnet (see the image on the large and stunning new central screen above) that gives you eyes at the bottom of your car and directly in front, you can rest assured that you will keep your GLC as attractive as the day it rolled off the production line.
Another optional extra is the Offroad Engineering package, which increases ground clearance by 20 millimetres and has an underride guard at the front and underbody protection. In conjunction with the AMG Line Exterior, the GLC has sport suspension. - Mercedes-Benz
If you plan on visiting the road less travelled in your GLC, I'd probably specify higher-profile wheels, too.
