Suzuki DZire test drive: make sure to check these features out
The excitement of test driving a potential new car can overwhelm you and make you forget to take note of the things that matter. We've created a list of the 5 most important things to look out for when test driving a new Suzuki DZire.
The world of the subcompact sedan is rapidly shrinking. Consumers are gravitating towards compact crossovers and SUVs and the poor old sedan is left wondering when the final death knell will be rung. Only a few of these handy, economical offerings remain on the market today but those that have weathered the storm have done so for good reason.

The Suzuki DZire started out as a more practical example of the popular Suzuki Swift. Initially known as the Suzuki Swift DZire, the model was created for the Indian market to provide additional space and storage - the boot of the Swift was never known for its volume. South Africa has only ever known the second and third generation DZires, with the latest incarnation dropping the Swift part of the name and going by DZire alone.
After a refresh and spec-level update in 2020, the Suzuki DZire is now more appealing than ever before. The model was treated to some new trimmings and the overall spec level was increased. As you head out to go and test drive one, take special note of the following:
1. Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
Standard across the entire range now is additional driving security in the form of ESP. Working in conjunction with the ABS braking system, ESP will help prevent a loss of control and keep the vehicle on the intended path. We wouldn't recommend testing it, but you'll be pleased to know that it is there when you need it.

2. Fresh new alloys
Before the 2020 update, both the GA and GL derivatives were shod with plastic wheel covers covering the steel wheels. GL models now get a flash set of 15-inch alloy wheels to add a little luxury and class to proceedings.
3. Upholstery
Climb inside the refreshed DZire and you'll be treated by a new upholstery. This new cloth covering is harder wearing than before and made to handle the sort of traffic that a subcompact sedan typically sees. The new design adds an air of class and sophistication to proceedings.
4. ISOFIX
We're not clairvoyant here at AutoTrader, but we can make an educated guess that if you're looking at buying a Suzuki DZire, you probably have children. The chances are high that they're pretty young too, in which case you'll be pleased to note that there are ISOFIX child seat mounts for the outer rear seats in the DZire.

5. Nimble mover
Once you've set off, take note of the tight turning circle of the Suzuki DZire. At only 4.8-meters, the turning circle of the DZire matches that of the regular Swift and will make navigating parking lots and spaces considerably easier.
