The C40 recharge is the second fully electric-only crossover from the Swedish automaker, which is renowned for world firsts. Volvo offers a 5-year / 100 000km service plan and requires service to be conducted every 15 000km or once a year, whichever comes first. Volvo also offers a very comprehensive warranty of 5 years/ 100 000km on the vehicle and 8 years / 150 000km on the battery pack. This speaks volumes about their confidence in the engineering that has gone into these batteries and drivetrains and should surely give the everyday motorists in SA some peace of mind when it comes to the electrified Swedish brand.
Should you buy a used Volvo C40 Recharge?
Service parts are covered by the service plan and are readily available through the dealership network. Replacement parts are stocked to a certain degree with other, less common items requiring importing from Ghent, Belgium.
As such, it's not possible to accurately gauge the costs to repair as these vehicles are still rather new. A better idea of the replacement cost for parts will only be available in the months and years to come as further studies are done into common faults and failures.
