GAC Motor, a subsidiary of China's fifth-largest automobile manufacturer, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd, is headed for local shores in collaboration with Salvador Caetano Group. Grupo Salvador Caetano, SGPS, SA or simply Salvador Caetano, is a Portuguese holding based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, that controls some enterprises on vehicle assembly, components and distribution.

Models set to be launched in 2024 include:
EMKOO
The EMKOO is an SUV similar in size to the Chery Tiggo 7. Considering the drivetrains available overseas, there are 1.5 turbocharged petrol engines and 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine options. More information about the local range will be released in due course.
EMZOOM
The EMZOOM is a compact crossover powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 132kW and 270Nm, sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Regarding sizing, it appears to be similar to the Omoda C5.
An EV is coming!
The brand will also be launching its AION Y, an electric SUV!
