What is covered under Volvo C40 Recharge manufacturer car warranty?

General warranty

The Volvo new car warranty preserves your statutory rights and provides additional remedies, including arbitration, alongside those stipulated in any sales contract. The warranty is transferable to subsequent registered owners of the vehicle, and decisions regarding repair or replacement of components rest with Volvo and the authorized Volvo retailer. Volvo will retain the replaced parts. Within 36 months from the vehicle's initial registration date* or until the vehicle reaches 100 000 kilometres, whichever comes first, any component failure resulting from faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture will be rectified at no cost by an authorized Volvo retailer.

Paint warranty

For three years from the vehicle's first registration date*, any paintwork defects and surface rust arising from faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture will be rectified free of charge by an authorized Volvo retailer.

Battery warranty

For eight years from the initial registration date* or until the vehicle reaches 160 000 kilometres, whichever comes first, any material defect in the  Lithium battery pack will be rectified without charge by an authorized Volvo retailer. Like all lithium batteries, The Lithium battery fitted to Volvo will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use. Loss of battery capacity due to average gradual capacity loss is not covered under the Volvo new car warranty.

Rust warranty

On all models, for twelve years from the first registration date*, rust perforation through any sheet metal body panel due to faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture will be rectified at no cost by an authorized Volvo retailer. Perforation refers to a hole penetrating through the bodywork caused by corrosion from the inside or underside of the vehicle due to faulty manufacture or materials. Bodywork excludes road wheels and attachments such as bright trim, bumpers, mouldings, brackets or hinges.

Other notables

All parts and labour services provided under the warranty terms are guaranteed until the warranty expires, regardless of when they are supplied. Additionally, Volvo accessories and spare parts purchased from an authorized Volvo retailer come with their specific guarantees. Any Genuine Volvo Accessory (excluding merchandise) supplied and fitted by a Volvo dealer within one month or 1 500 kilometres (whichever occurs first) of the new vehicle's initial registration* will be covered by the same warranty terms as the Vehicle Warranty. This coverage is subject to the warranty period being 24 months from the first registration date* or until the new vehicle reaches 100 000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
