The Peugeot 3008 is a good car for people who want their SUV to stand out from the crowd and who are as serious about style as they are about safety. As a mid-size SUV, it's ideal for families.
It's a bit pricey new, and older Peugeots may have issues finding parts, so probably not the best example of a good first car.

The minuscule steering wheel looks like it belongs in a rally car, but it's perfectly placed, increases the fun factor, and simplifies everything. Whether you're making a U-turn in a narrow street or hitting your favourite twisty mountain pass, you'll feel like you're driving a smaller, lighter car with a lower centre of gravity.
The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine has a healthy 121kW and 240 Nm on tap, with a top speed of 201 km/h, and the 0-100 km per hour sprint takes 8.9 seconds. Driving modes on offer are Eco, Sport, and Normal.
