The 2022 Suzuki Baleno, at the time of writing, had just hit the South African market with much fanfare. The all-new Baleno has been revised from the previous model. It's lighter, has a bigger engine, uses less fuel & offers premium equipment for not much money.

The cabin is quiet on the road, so good noise suppression there.

Is there a Hybrid 2022 Suzuki Baleno?

There is no hybrid variant of the 2022 Suzuki Baleno at the time of writing. You get a single 1.5l 4 cylinder engine used in the local range which produces 77kw of power & 138nm of torque. The 2022 Suzuki Baleno feels agile & eager to move like an athlete but has class in its step. The lightweight body feels planted on the road. It's extremely easy to drive & a pleasure to do so. The value for money & convenience features also add to the premium experience. It's quite surprising to see this level of kit considering how much this vehicle costs.

What is the 2022 Suzuki Baleno like inside? 

The 2022 Suzuki Baleno greets you with soft touch plastic including padded leather in key areas like the door cards to rest your elbow & centre armrest. You also get a leather D-shaped steering wheel (GLX) with a host of controls. The seats are fabric & bolstered nicely to seat you in comfort. You get big infotainment screens in both the GL & GLX variants. Overall, it's not a busy interior & flows nicely with tasteful use of buttons & touch controls.

Style

The 2022 Suzuki Baleno maintains a similar body shape to the previous model but opts for a more assertive front end with some sharp angles, particularly when looking at the headlights. The exterior still maintains the same use of chrome as the previous Baleno more or less. The rear is similar to the older Baleno bar a protrusion in in taillight to extend its length. The GLX comes with 16 inch two-tone machined wheels which suit the sharper design elements. Whilst the GL makes do with 15 inch steel wheels with hubcaps.
