4 extras you should fit on a used Mahindra XUV500

Offering great value for money out of the box, Mahindra’s XUV500 has plenty of features that you’d usually only associate with more-expensive cars. There’s still room for an owner to make it even nicer, though, so we tracked down 4 useful extras to retrofit on a used Mahindra XUV500.

Buying a Car

It may be getting close to replacement, but the Mahindra XUV500 still presents a distinctive and fully-equipped choice in the 7-seater SUV marketplace. Standard highlights (depending on the trim level) include an opening glass sunroof, colour touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and rear-view camera, electric driver’s seat adjustment, and leather trim. But, onto this already-comprehensive specifications, you could select a few Mahindra-approved extras to spruce a used XUV500 up even further.

1. Side steps

Part of the SUV driving experience revolves around an elevated seating position, but this may lead to difficulty in entering and exiting such a vehicle – especially for shorter passengers. To alleviate this problem, Mahindra offers side steps as an approved accessory. Available in stainless steel or with a blacked-out finish, these steps will ease access, and add a nice shot of visual aggression to the XUV500 as well.

2. Tow bar

Seeing as the XUV500 is aimed at families with an active lifestyle, there may be some mountain biking- or camping trips to reach. With this in mind, fitting an approved tow bar will allow you to safely attach a bike rack or trailer to the back of your XUV500. As an added bonus, a luggage trailer will allow the full complement of 7 seats to be used, along with all the chattel those occupants would want to bring with them.

3. Nudge bar

This is mainly a cosmetic add-on, but fitting a nudge bar does add a smidge of protection for the front bumper assembly nonetheless. Once again available in stainless steel or with a black finish, a Mahindra-approved nudge bar’s main function is however to make the XUV500 look that little bit more rugged.

4. Floor mats

These mats protect the car as much as they improve the cabin ambience, leading to (eventual) better resale value and easier cleaning in day-to-day use. Available in a range of styles and textures, these OEM floor mats span the whole spectrum from reinforced rubber to plush tufted carpeting, so they can be as rugged or elegant as you desire.
