The Mercedes-Benz passenger car portfolio has three distinct branches: Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, and Mercedes-Benz EQ. Each one offers a somewhat unique approach to producing vehicles that encompass a particular lifestyle.
Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles are geared towards the average consumer, whether they're looking for a premium hatchback or a luxurious SUV. The Mercedes-Benz with the best fuel consumption is the Mercedes-Benz CLA220d, showing that sedans still have some benefits over the more popular crossover and SUV shapes. The CLA's aerodynamic form, paired with the frugal diesel engine, means that you can expect a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 4.4 l/100km, yielding as much as 1 159 km from a single tank.
The CLA220d is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 140 kW and 400 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This combination allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/ in only 7.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 244 km/h, proving that an efficient engine can, in fact, still perform well.
