Meet the Nissan Magnite
The cheapest Nissan passenger vehicle is now the new 1.0-litre turbocharged Nissan Magnite (with 74kW) which was launched recently. It shares a platform and engine as well as various under-the-skin components with the new Nissan Kiger, while the interior layout. If you're looking for budget family motoring, the Nissan Magnite boasts a spacious second row and a capacious cargo area too, and a four-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP.
Build quality is relatively budget-minded with hard plastics and some cheap-looking components in the cabin (and those squeaky wipers - they've been lifted straight from the Renault Triber!), but certain elements like the steering wheel, touchscreen and velvety seat material help to lift the cabin ambience. The 1.0-litre turbo is an energetic gem — this alone serves as an excellent selling point for prospective compact SUV buyers. Want to know more? Read:
