Audi S3 now more powerful

The new S3 models are more powerful than ever, with the familiar 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine cranked up to deliver 245kW and 420Nm of torque. This increase of 32kW and 20Nm means 0 to 100 km/h is dispatched in 4.7 seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The refined seven-speed S tronic transmission has been updated for sharper take-off and faster shifts, aided by turbocharger pre-loading.

Torque Splitter now in S3 range

Derived from the high-performance RS 3, the new S3 gains the brand's torque splitter on its quattro all-wheel drive system. This technology enables fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels, enhancing agility and stability. Working with the Audi drive select system, the torque splitter can optimally distribute power to the outside rear wheel in a corner, helping to rotate the car into the bend. A new dynamic plus driving mode also channels torque primarily to the outer rear wheel to generate a controlled oversteer effect.

Audi S3 suspension and brake upgrades

Audi engineers have re-tuned the chassis. Wishbones with stiffer bearings and new pivot bearings allow for increased negative wheel camber, providing greater lateral grip and more immediate steering response. The standard S sport suspension lowers the body by 15 mm, while an optional adaptive damper system has been specifically calibrated to work with the torque splitter.

Stopping power is also upgraded. The front axle features larger ventilated and perforated brake discs, now measuring 357 mm in diameter and four mm thicker than before. New two-piston callipers further enhance braking performance and thermal capacity. The S3 rides on a standard set of 19-inch wheels.

Audi S3 design

Visually, the S3 has also received upgrades. The hexagonal frameless single-frame grille is now flatter and wider, framed by L-shaped design elements. Angular side air intakes and a front spoiler enhance the width and lowered stance. At the rear, there's a redesigned bumper with a two-part gloss black apron and four signature S-model tailpipes.

The Matrix LED headlights also feature a new lighting signature, allowing drivers to select up to four digital daytime running light signatures via the MMI system, allowing for a new level of personalisation and character. New metallic paint finishes, including District Green, Ascari Blue, and Progressive Red, are also available, and polar matt Daytona Grey also makes its debut.

Inside, the cabin reflects the car’s sporty nature with new ambient lighting, a redesigned gear shifter, and precision details like laser-cut illuminated fabric panels in the doors. Sport seats with integrated headrests and new inlays in aluminium or carbon fibre complete the athletic atmosphere.
