If you've been waiting for the new Q7 so you can trade in your old one, the time has come, as the new Q7 has landed. Here's what local buyers can look forward to.
Exterior styling
The front fascia has been revised and striking LED DRLs are now placed higher, while the octagonal Audi singleframe grille now has short, vertical inlays that make up a part of a large honeycomb design, instead of the long, thin slats of the previous model (see our 2021 launch report here to see the differences).
Matrix LED headlights are now a standard feature, but a new paid-for option is the Audi Laser light that becomes active at speeds in excess of 70km/h and gives the driver much better visibility when switched to high beam.
Buyers also have the option of choosing a digital daytime running lamp signature out of four possible choices.

New illumination tech
For the first time, the Q7 also features digitalised OLED rear lights (OLED = organic light emitting diode) as an option, which also feature an additional four digital light signatures, says the brand.

In addition to this, the Q7 taillights have a proximity indication feature that become dynamic displays. Powered by OLED technology, these lights can be individually controlled to create a variety of patterns and animations.
When a car approaches the stationary Q7 from behind within two meters, the taillights will automatically illuminate brightly and dynamically, alerting the approaching driver. This is particularly useful in low-visibility conditions or when drivers may not be paying full attention.
Beyond safety, these digital taillights also add a touch of style. Dynamic turn signals, for instance, progressively light up in the direction of the turn, making the car's intentions clearer to other road users. Additionally, the "coming home" and "leaving home" sequences offer a unique visual experience as the driver approaches or departs from the Q7.
Under the skin - Advanced Audi suspension
The new Q7 features electronically controlled air-suspension system that can adjust its height and stiffness to suit different driving conditions. It can raise itself for off-road adventures or lower itself for better highway stability.
Additionally, the all-wheel-driven Q7 has a special steering system that makes it easier to manoeuvre at low speeds. The rear wheels can turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels, making tight turns a breeze. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels, improving stability and comfort.

Engines & drivetrains: what’s on offer?
The Q7 55 TFSI is powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 250 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque. This engine propels the Q7 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
For those seeking a sportier drive, the SQ7 TFSI has more horses under the hood. Its 4.0-litre TFSI engine generates an impressive 373 kW of power and 770 Nm of torque. Paired with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive, the SQ7 TFSI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.1 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
