Mitsubishi Motors announces renewed focus on South African market

The mid-term plan announced in Japan on Monday 27 July 2020 focuses on cost rationalisation and profitability enhancement towards a solid management foundation aiming at sustainable growth after a three-year period. The main actions of this plan include developing businesses in Africa, Oceania and South America as the second pillar following a focus on ASEAN management resources, as well as strengthening eco-friendly new models by 2022. As part of MMC's restructuring plan, the company also confirmed that it would stop production of the legendary Pajero SUV next year. For South Africa, the Pajero remains a popular model and will continue to be ordered until production finally ends. 

 

Fuel price increase for next month

As matters currently stand, petrol is likely to increase by between nine and 16 cents a litre, diesel by up to 48 cents, and illuminating paraffin by 43 cents.

 

Nissan South Africa adopts WesBank’s online digital finance application

The technology, launched by WesBank in October last year, is currently integrated into the bank’s website and into the FNB app. It is the first online application technology of its kind and has enjoyed a continued increase in use since its launch. This same technology will now be integrated into the Nissan SA website offering customers a seamless, simple and customer-centric digital solution when applying for Nissan vehicle finance.

 

Ford honours Madiba's legacy with unique Ranger

This year, the manufacturing team at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has honoured Madiba with a unique tribute, transforming a Ford Ranger into a one-of-a-kind piece of mobile art for donation to the Nelson Mandela Foundation

 

Jaguar and e-Movement bring Formula E to South African TV for the first time

The final six rounds of the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship will be broadcast on SuperSport for the first time ever courtesy of Jaguar South Africa and its partnership with Cape Town Formula E Bid Company, e-Movement.

 

KIA Motors India releases official images of all-new KIA Sonet

KIA Motors India, a wholly owned subsidiary of KIA Motors Corporation, has today released official images of the interior and exterior of its upcoming Sonet compact SUV.

 

The 2020 racing season set to resume on 7 August

Zwartkops Raceway will play host to Round 2 of the Oettinger Polo Cup following a 5-month break. A number of regulations have been put in place to minimize the risk and the spread of Covid-19 during the race weekend, such as limiting the amount of attendees and enforcing obvious social distancing. The action will take place in front of empty stands as spectators from the public will not be allowed entry in accordance with government's regulations with regard to public gatherings. The weekend will also see the debut of the eagerly-awaited SupaCup class which will serve as the second category of the Global Touring Car series. The official GTC series is yet to get underway, but Zwartkops will see nine identical SupaCup Polo GTI's battle it out.

The compact Eclipse Cross range has proven to be a popular choice for younger families, single professionals as well as young men and women at the start of their careers. Many are recurring buyers, adding a new model to their family. The 2.0-litre version is offered with no deposit and a linked interest rate of just 5,41% over six years, while the 1.5 TURBO flies in at the R469 995 mark. Many buyers took advantage of the 0% offer to get behind the wheel of the compact SUV's starting from just *R4510 per month.
