Renault introduces facelifted Sandero Stepway TechRoad
When Sandero first entered the South African motoring landscape in February 2009, Renault's key objective was to provide a high-value proposition in the entry level passenger car segment. The introduction of the latest Sandero range maintains the same construct, Sandero Expression remains the entry level model, followed by an accessible mid-level Stepway Expression derivative, with the new Stepway TechRoad leading the line-up as the flagship model.
Peugeot 108 comes out on tops during the AA entry-level car safety report
Out of a sample of 27 models tested from 16 different manufacturers The Peugeot 108 received the highest safety rating of 110 points in the latest AA Report 2020. It was the only entry-level vehicle to include a curtain airbag, the Peugeot 108 comes with 6 airbags. The Peugeot 108 is also the only vehicle to include ALL safety features considered in this report.
New Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition confirmed for South Africa
Land Rover has confirmed the new Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition will be available in South Africa toward the end of 2020. The special edition joins the latest Range Rover Sport line-up, providing a stealthy take on the high-performance flagship with extensive Carbon Fibre detailing.
Pricing for all-new Volkswagen T-Roc announced
The T-Roc, which slots above the T-Cross and below the Tiguan in the Volkswagen SUV range, offers maximum personalisation, innovative digitalisation, perfect connectivity, class-leading driver assistance systems, dynamic engines and a modern and expressive design. The T-Roc, which will go on sale from November 2020, will be available in the following derivatives; 1.4 TSI 110kW Design, 2.0 TSI 140kW 4MOTION® DSG® Design and the top-of-the-range 2.0 TSI 140kW 4MOTION® DSG® R-Line.

The Volkswagen T-Roc comes standard with a 3 year/120 000km warranty, 5 year/90 000km Volkswagen Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km.
Hilux sales remain steady in tough economy
In July, 3 575 Hilux models found new homes in South Africa, proving the bakkie’s status as the country’s favourite vehicle once more. Hilux, together with the rest of the range placed Toyota ahead of its nearest competitor by 2 389 units, to achieve 7 464 new car and truck sales for the month. This equates to an overall market share of 23%.
SEMA 2020 has officially been cancelled due to the global pandemic
Cancelling the annual show is a huge blow to the automotive aftermarket industry. SEMA is typically the flagship event for tuners, accessory manufacturers, and custom shops alike, hosted in Las Vegas and attended by people from across the globe. Organizers were originally optimistic that the show could go on if the spread of COVID-19 could have been gotten under control, but the current situation has left many attendees and vendors sceptical of large in-person events.
