Volkswagen extends new vehicle Warranty and Maintenance Plans

Volkswagen South Africa has made the decision to extend new vehicle warranties. Concession will be given to Volkswagen customers who were not able to claim warranty due to closed workshops. In the event that the new vehicle warranty or the EasyDrive Plan expires or has expired during the period from 27 March 2020 to 30 June 2020, Volkswagen will extend the warranty or maintenance/service plan periods with an additional three months.

These periods will end three months after the expiry of the new vehicle warranty or the Volkswagen EasyDrive Plan. The mileage restrictions will not be extended. Vehicle services that are affected by the lockdown period also receive either a grace period of 1 500km or 1 month after the scheduled service, and these will not be extended. This extension applies to all vehicles in the Volkswagen range.

Hyundai helps to bring food relief to communities affected by Covid-19 pandemic in SA

Hyundai Automotive South Africa is helping to bring relief to people in dire need during the Covid-19 pandemic through the donation of vehicles to Gift of the Givers and FoodForward SA - both non-governmental organisations who have made it their mission to distribute food to such communities.

Eight vehicles - five H100 trucks (also called the "Bakkie"), one H-1 Bus and two Grand i10 Cargo panel vans - are being donated to Gift of the Givers and FoodForward South Africa. The organisations will use the vehicles in their drive to get food to communities where families have no income and a severe food shortage due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Two of the H100 trucks and the H-1 Bus will go to Gift of the Givers, while FoodForward SA is to receive three H100 trucks and two Grand i10 Cargo panel vans. The H100 trucks will be fitted with closed canopies donated by Beekman.

Audi Freeway Plan further extends relief to Audi drivers

All new Audi South Africa vehicles are sold with the Audi Freeway Plan (AFP) which includes service and maintenance cover for the first five years and/or 100 000 kilometres (whichever occurs first). With an AFP extension, Audi vehicles are then covered for an extended period of up 10 years and/or 300 000 kilometres. As a further allowance to our customers during these uncertain times, Audi has increased their efforts of support within the AFP and AFP extension contracts.

The Audi Freeway Plan and Freeway Plan extension will continue its offering of peace-of-mind motoring by extending any contracts expiring between the period: 27 March – 30 June 2020 (both days inclusive), by including a complimentary and additional three months to the plan.
