The third round of the challenging GR Media Cup rolls into Aldo Scribante Raceway next week, bringing with it a new circuit for the drivers and a new spanner in the works, so to speak—new cars!

Our season was supposed to start with these new cars, but significant factory delays meant that they arrived early last month and weren't ready for the last round at Kyalami. However, they are now done and set to hit the track for the first time.

Circuit dynamics
I have never driven Aldo Scribante Race Circuit in anger before. I know the surface is highly unpredictable due to the weather and temperature fluctuations at the coast. I am roughly familiar with the circuit, having attended other motorsport events as an MSA official and a few vehicle launches over the years. However, pushing a race car around the track at pace will be a new and challenging experience, especially given that we have unpredictable weather on the cards.
This race will bring many firsts and some apprehension, but I am looking forward to it fully, especially to being one of the first to drive the new GR Yaris that will launch to the public later this year.
