The C5's evolution is said to bring many improvements, including upgraded aesthetics, enhanced driving dynamics and increased practicality at a lower price point.

Updated exterior
The C5 X Series adopts a new front-end design, said to be modelled on its larger sibling, the C9. The diamond matrix grille has a polished finish, while the lower bumper elements have been streamlined for a cleaner, more modern feel. The headlights have also been restyled, and the daytime running lamps now boast a new design. Sportier black-painted alloy wheels complete the exterior refresh.
Interior updates
Inside, the C5 X Series features softer materials on the driver and front passenger door trim, an updated wireless charging pad which offers 50-watt charging with a ventilation system, while potentially the biggest update is the increased boot space, which has increased from 378 litres to 442 litres. With the rear seats folded flat, the C5 X Series can now swallow up to 1 149 litres of cargo, a significant increase of 74 litres over the outgoing model.
New gearbox
Omoda has removed the often-lamented CVT gearbox and replaced it with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT), which is now standard across the range (excluding the existing Street and Style models). This six-speed gearbox is a dry-clutch unit and is paired with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 115kW and 230Nm of torque.
The DCT is said to have improved fuel efficiency and performance, with the 0-100 km/h sprint time time coming down by 0.9 seconds to 9.0 seconds, while now boasts a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.9 L/100 km, an improvement over the previous Elegance and Lux trims' 7.4L/100 km.
Other updates
The other big news is that the brand has replaced the old torsion beam rear suspension with a multilink setup. This should drastically improve handling and ride quality, so we're keen to experience it! Omoda has also revised the brake pedal for more responsive feedback and added an additional Sport mode to the drive mode selector.
