The figures are in! Here are the 10 best-selling bakkies in September 2025!

Automotive News1 min read

The list isn't all that surprising, but shows the continued popularity of the humble bakkie in SA. Let's get into it!

1. Toyota Hilux- 3 639 units

There's little suprise here, despite being nearly 10 years old, the Hilux contunues to be the best-selling car in SA, and with a new version expected in 2026, we imagine this will remain the case!

2. Ford Ranger- 2 270 units

The Ranger is SA's best-selling double cab, but its Toyota rival sells more single and extended cab varaints, meaning the Ford remains in second place within the bakkie sales market.

3. Isuzu D-Max- 2 054 units

Bringing up thrid position in the bakkie charts for September is another locally-produced model, the Isuzu D-Max, which is consistantly a top performer.

4. Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up-750 units

While a distance fourth, Mahindra's Scorpio Pik-Up beats-out some serious competition!

5. GWM P-Series- 458 units

The P-Series continues its solid sales figures, although GWM hasn't quite cracked the code of the local bakkie market as well as it has in the local SUV market.

6. Toyota Landcruiser PU- 392 units

A perennial favourite and cetrainly by no means cheap, the 70 Series Cruiser continues its seeminly never ending sales success!

7. Volkswagen Amarok- 382 units

The Ranger-based Amarok has found a consistant sales groove within the local market, but is eclipsed by its Ford sibling.

8. Nissan Navara- 337 units

Another product made right here in SA, the Navara is a regular in the top 10, but has never really reached the heights expected of it.

9. Foton Tunland G7- 232 units

Foton's value proposition is on full display here, with the G7 finding an audience locally!

10. Hyundai H100 bakkie - 182 units

A local workhorse favourite, the H100 cracks the top 10, narrowly beating-out the JAC T-Series by just 2 units!
