The New T6

The latest addition to the range is the T6 2.0L CTi single-cab. Launched to bolster the brand’s commercial offering. The brand claims that in local testing, the consumption figure was just 6.1 L/100 km.

Gerotek endurance test

Earlier this year, JAC tested some of its models at Gerotek Testing Facilities and achieved two massive milestones:

  • Distance record: A T9 2.0L CTi broke a 15-year-old South African 24-hour endurance record, covering 4 084 km at an average speed of 170.1 km/h.

  • Real-World fuel runs: In a "run-to-empty" test at 115 km/h:

    • The T8 covered 1 246 km on a single 76-litre tank (6.1 L/100 km).

    • The T9 covered 1 226 km (6.2 L/100 km).

"Saving just 2 L/100 km equates to 200 litres over 10,000 km—a massive saving of R6 000 at current projected prices," says Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa.

The T9 PHEV

JAC is set to expand the T-Series in July with the T9 PHEV. Equipped with a 31.2 kWh LFP battery, it offers:

  • 100 km electric range

  • Sub-2 L/100 km potential

Retail prices remain stable

JAC Motors South Africa has maintained its retail prices for over two-and-a-half years. With the T6 2.0L CTi single-cab starting at R299 900 (VAT incl.), the brand is targeting fleet operators and small business owners who need low acquisition and running costs.
