The Audi S4 is not only luxurious but it is one of the true sports sedans. This begs the question though, is a sports sedan any good for families?

The S4 has a very impressive list of safety features making it one of the top 4-door sedans in terms of safety so you can have peace of mind while transporting those most precious.

  • 5-Star Euro NCAP rating
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • ABS And Driveline Traction Control
  • Side Impact Beams
  • Dual Stage Driver And Passenger Seat-Mounted Side Airbags
  • Audi connect CARE Emergency Sos
  • Audi pre sense basic
  • Low Tire Pressure Warning
  • Dual Stage Driver And Passenger Front Airbags
  • SIDEGUARD Curtain 1st And 2nd Row Airbags
  • Airbag Occupancy Sensor
  • Driver And Passenger Knee Airbag

  • Outboard Front Lap And Shoulder Safety Belts -inc: Rear Center 3 Point, Height Adjusters and Pretensioners

Practicality and Comfort

With the Audi S4 being a sports sedan it has a very wide and low profile, meaning their will be a lot of space for arms and legs but for those with taller frames, headroom and legroom in the rear may come at a premium. Optional high quality leather upholstery may also not be the best option for small children.

  • Passenger / Seating Capacity                 5
  • Front Head Room (cm)                           94.7
  • Front Leg Room (cm)                              105
  • Front Shoulder Room (cm)                     142
  • Second Row Head Room (cm)               95
  • Second Row Leg Room (mm)                 90
  • Second Row Shoulder Room (mm)        138

Storage and Boot space

The boot space in the S4 is a very deep and flat 340l. There is also a multitude of door pockets, bottle holders and cubbys for all your different needs.

Verdict

We would recommend the S4 for families that have slightly older children, those out of car seats. Although the rear is fitted with ISOfix, the low slung nature of a sports sedan and high-end interior may not be best suited for those with toddlers or younger offspring.
