How to replace a lightbulb on a Mercedes-AMG GLE

We show you how to replace the halogen headlight bulbs on a Mercedes-AMG GLE

Light it up

The GLE is now in its fourth incarnation and is now offered with full LED headlights. On previous models, the GLE was offered with H7 style Halogen headlights. When these bulbs eventually go out you can replace them with aftermarket LED units or opt for the original spec H7 style bulbs.

It is relatively easy and can be done with minimal tools in just a few minutes. Here's how it's done

 

 

You will need:

  • Replacement H7 halogen bulbs
  • Soft cloth
  • Panel removal tool

 

 

Let's get it done

 

1. Turn the wheels to full lock to reveal the arch liner

 

2. Use the panel removal tool to open the access panel behind the headlight assembly

 

3. Locate the lightbulb cover

 

4. Remove the cover to access the lightbulb

 

5. Twist to remove the lightbulb

 

6. Carefully replace the bulb

 

7. Assemble in reverse order
