Model peak performance
The latest edition of the Tiggo 4 pro was recently added to the lineup. Until recently, the models on offer only sported a manual and CVT option. The addition of a DCT auto transmission has livened things up. The Tiggo 4 Pro is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine across the range, and it is rather surprising just how much of a difference the gearbox makes.

The engine produces 108kW and 210Nm that is sent through the front wheels, and, from our week with the vehicle, the DCT improves the driving experience on offer. Gone is the drone of the CVT, and in its place, a relatively slick-shifting gearbox, albeit one that, on occasion, will hold on to a gear longer than it perhaps should. The car feels best at medium to high speeds, or between 40km/h to 120km/h, offering the sort of driving experience one might expect from a budget-friendly crossover. - Sean Nurse
